I love summer. I love to feel the heat of the sun warm me after what always seems like an endless winter. I love long lazy days and feeling like I have all the time in the world to just hang around, swim and take long walks on the beach. I love not having as much of a schedule to follow. Well, I guess it will be a little more crazy than that. We have swim lessons, karate, sports camps and a few other things. But, we can, for the most part, take it a bit slower.
The boys seem so self sufficient now at 7&9. They can take care of themselves and can usually find enough to do to keep busy. For now anyway. I am looking forward to taking time for myself a little more this year.
I have joined a bookclub (something I have been wanting to do) and it is made up of some great women. We are currently reading The Memory Keepers Daughter. I loved it!!

It starts here..It starts now
I am turning 40 in just 6 days. A friend once told me that your life really begins at 40. Well, I was about 35 then, had 1 preschooler and 1 toddler and I thought my life was all for them. My husband and I were just the people who fed, clothed, worried and loved these two amazing beings. Our roles were parents.
As I was starting to get closer to 40, I realized there was some truth to what she had said. I don't think life was just begining but a new chapter was starting to emerge. I was feeling more confident. I was feeling as though I had some real accomplishments. I was starting to understand so much that I hadn't before. Most of all I was able to see many wonderful things. The wonderous gifts God gives that we so often fail to recognize.
My blog is the first one I've ever done. It is one of the new things I am looking forward to do in my next decade. I'm also looking forward to praying conitunously, running often, reading as much as I can and watching my two handsom, talented, wonderful boys become teenagers. I hope you follow along, share your stories and live life to the fullest, as I hope to do.
